What should the storyline be about?

Well, technically, since we're in the jungle, and my intro was chosen, just add on to that.

Well yes it was chosen but some people on the Kong thread pointed out a few things that need a little refining.

Personally, I think Pivots is a little stupid. We need something that makes sense and doesn't need much plot development.

In a peaceful land… Far away…
Trouble stirs among us…
7(Or another amount) ancient guardians… Were kidnapped. (Canopy People You Must Save)
You are the only one left…
Save them… And return peace to the Canopy…
It is up to you…
That should be the story… And there should be puzzles. One should be needing to push rocks into the monster infested river so you can get a shiny key… And that would be where the moles that look like rocks are!
I think that would work pretty.

This is kind of half plot outline half game concept but it works for this.
Our main character is the best warrior in the village, he is sent by the leader of the village to defeat a monster that has been terrorizing them (the jungle boss) so he sets off to find it. (at this point the player will have to go through the jungle level, the boss is then encountered and, depending on the battle style, killed or nearly killed, if we are doing turn-based it will be killed in the battle but not in the actual platformer, if we are having a platformer based battle the boss’ health bar will be nearly at zero when the next event happens) Greatly weakened, uses it’s last bit of strength to open a portal at the hero’s feet. The hero is sucked through the portal and is transported to whatever stage is next (at this point the player, either because of gamer’s intuition or because the hero makes some personal speech about trying to get back to the village, plays through the stage) the hero then encounters another boss which is guarding a portal that looks similar to the first one. The cycle continues through all the stages with the bosses growing more difficult with each passing level. Eventually the hero manages to return to his village only to find it in ruin, on fire, in some state of disaster. The hero finds the leader and asks what has happened, the leader responds that the since the hero has been gone the monster has grown more powerful then before (at this point maybe there’s some sort of ground shaking effect which causes the leader to run away and then the monster shows up) and so begins the final fight, within the village itself, against the monster that started it all which has grown more powerful than any of the other bosses.

You are sent to the Tiki Temple, to collect the ancient mask for you Age Ceremony. As you arrive, the temple doors shut behind you, and are locked. You figure it’s to keep out robbers, so you continue to the Shrine. On you way there, the temple starts to collapse, and you are forced to seek shelter in an empty corridor. You start wandering around, when a tile sinks into the floor, and panel by panel, you are brought closer to death in the abyss. You can’t get away fast enough, when I vine comes from the ceiling. You jump onto it, and swing to the exit. You then enter the shrine.
You head to the Mask, when a giant monster smashes the back of the room. You then grab the mask and put it on, to see if anything happens. When you put it on, you gain a sword, and fight the monster. Then, like in Tera’s, he opens a portal, blah, blah, blah.
You are now underwater.

You go into a temple, and it is boobie trapped, then out of nowhere a monster appears? You put a mask on for no reason, and somehow gain a sword?

Okay... Then we go to the could or the desert or something. And my story was just a draft. I still need to know a lot of things about the game to continue.

Thunder strikes. Fire's hard. A mother sits alone; holding her baby tight to her chest. War cries and mass slaughter can be heard, tents and trees go up in flames. Mother and baby cry together.
3 men walk in and the mother cries something out. The stab her twice with spears. The baby drops the the floor. The men hear a whistle and quickly run out, dragging the dead women with them. Then it shows the baby in quick snap shots as he grows up. It is then. when he is adult that he reads an old piece of text written by one of the villagers. It says that all the people had be kidnapped and he must save them. He finds a spear on the floor and heads out into the jungle. It is there that you start platforming.

Then, when you go to the temple, your instincts just tell you to put on the mask.
